Ideas

We’ve identified six major projects that could, in their different ways, help to deliver the ambitions for the county in 2050. Each one has the potential to transform the county’s reputation on the national or international stage and significantly improve quality of life.

The ideas were unveiled at the launch of the Big Conversation on 1 February 2018. Over 600 people and 30 exhibitors gathered at Cheltenham Racecourse to talk about their vision for Gloucestershire. Watch the video for a short recap of what happened on the day.

Super City

Gloucester and Cheltenham could grow and regenerate by developing a third centre connecting the two communities to create a ‘super city’.

The Forest of Dean and the Severn Vale are two of the county’s main assets, as well as the world-renowned Cotswolds Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB). We think they should be designated as Regional Parks, creating a wetlands area for flood management and investing in facilities.
